  • Upcoming Hazard Reduction Burn - Flinders Swamp
Joint land management agencies will be conducting hazard reduction burns within the Flinders Beach swamp area. Proposed dates for the burns (dependent on weather conditions) are: Mon 16th May to Sunday 29th May, Mon 6th June to Sunday 19th June & Monday 11th July to Sunday 24th July. As a result, smoke may be visible in Flinders township, Amity Point, and along the foreshore down into Adder Rock and the Point Lookout area. Homes and businesses within the vicinity of the fires may be affected by the smoke and are advised to keep their windows and doors closed. A reminder also to make sure any breathing aids/medication are easily accessible. The smoke can also affect visibility; we remind residents and visitors to drive with extra care and to the conditions during these periods. Any changes to these dates will be posted as we receive advice.
