Bookings and Border and Travel Restrictions (updated 13th January 2021)
Greater Brisbane Lockdown - January 2021
All bookings for arrival at the island between 9 – 11 January have been cancelled and put into credit valid for 18 months unless you advised us otherwise. We will issue you with a credit note with these details. If you wish to have the monies refunded (excluding Vehicle Access Permits which will be held in credit until you are able to use or transfer), please send us an email confirming this and we will process to your credit card. If you haven't advised us by 15th January, we will credit the value to use as above. No refund requests will be approved after this time
Do I have to wear a mask?
As pre the Government advice, masks must be worn as per advice from the QLD CMO. Please ensure you have a mask on your person at all times
Can I make a booking?
For all travellers currently affected by border closures & quarantine measures, you are welcome to make a booking however we will not be refunding bookings for any travel in 2020 and 2021 made after September 21st 2020. We can cancel the booking and place the balance in credit for travel at a later time less an admin fee. Minjerribah Camping has been following advice from the Queensland government’s Chief Medical Officer as well as the National Aboriginal and Islander Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO)
Relaxation of Restrictions?
We are not planning on relaxing any restrictions until the end of April 2021 at this stage. There will be no more sites being made available for the Christmas and New Year period - we will continue to encourage social & physical distancing.
All extra guests must be added into each booking. We have reached the number of people we can accommodate during the Christmas and New Year. We are unable to add any extra people to the bookings - regardless of age. The number of people booked must match the number of people staying to ensure the safety of all our guests. If you need to cancel your booking due to the headcount cap, please let us know as soon as you can. We have awaitlist of people wanting to add their children to the bookings.

Refunds for Covid related bookings
If you are a NSW/VIC resident and your booking is cancelled due to border closures or cancelled due to a Minjerribah Camping requirement, we are able to place a credit on your account. Refunds for the the accommodation/camping amount paid will be subject to review and booking date taken into consideration for bookings made prior to September 21st 2020.
No 4WD pass can be refunded however the date can be amended or transferred to another camper.
4WD Permits - Annual
If you had a valid annual permit and were affected due to the island closures, your permit will be extended by 3 months. This will be actioned by the Adder Rock Campground Office who will issue you with a new sticker and retrieve your expired sticker at the same time.
What if the island closes due to Covid
In the unlikely event Covid impacts the island again, we will be in touch with all campers - please do not call the office - we will be in touch with you via email with instructions
What changes are there to camping during Covid?
Currently we are not able to do the following (unless you already had an existing booking prior to the changes)
- No tents on Adder Rock or Amity Point (for travel up to and including 30th April 2021)
- Reduced availability of campsites throughout all Campgrounds (for travel up to and including 30th April 2021)
- Adams Beach and Bradbury's Beach are all closed to campers until further notice. Pre-existing bookings have been honoured where possible but some cancellations are invetable under Covid circumstances.
